Residential As part of a mixed-use project area near the AirTrain terminal, 375 units of new housing are being developed. These units will include both affordable and market rate apartments. New York City renters have recently discovered that Downtown Jamaica, with its unmatched transportation resources, is both an attractive and an affordable place to live. Within walking distance of the Station Area, hundreds of units have recently been completed and over 500 new units are well into development. Airport workers and commuters to Midtown Manhattan, as well as downtown Brooklyn, are finding that a home in Jamaica offers them a shorter commute, and as a result, a higher quality of life.
